Warren Edward Goddard peacefully died on Friday, February 27, 2026, on the feast of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows at the age of 96 at the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH. He was a devout Catholic and courageous defender of the faith. Warren lived his life practicing the corporal works of mercy; he was always willing to give a handout and a help up to all those in need. Throughout his life Warren loved and cherished his beloved family of 61 descendants and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Gifted with a photographic memory, he was an avid reader and lover of history, theology, and genealogy.

Warren was born on August 2,1929 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Simon Lawrence (Gaudet) Goddard and Katherine Veronica (Flynn) Goddard. He attended Peabody Grade school in Cambridge, MA, and then graduated from Cambridge High and Latin in 1948. During that time, he met the love of his life, Yvonne Marie, and they were married in 1952. Before being drafted into the Korean war as a medic from 1951-1953, he attended Lowell Teacher's College at Lowell State College. After the war, he graduated from Lowell Technical Institute (UMASS Lowell) in 1957 with a degree in Textile Engineering. That same year, he moved to OH and worked at BF Goodrich as a Project Engineer in Marion, Akron, and Cleveland Heights, OH.

In 1967 Warren moved to Gales Ferry, CT, then in 1968 to Norwich, CT, and worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT in Research & Design as a Test Engineer on nuclear submarines. In 1978, Warren moved to his ancestral hometown of Portsmouth, NH and worked as a mechanical engineer on nuclear submarines at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1995. Warren became a NH State Representative in 1996. He was a founding member of CT Right to Life and also of NH Right to Life, where he later became Chairman and then Treasurer. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the VFW.

Warren is survived by two sisters, Janice and Eileen, his eleven children: Paul, Mary (Brende), Margaret (Becotte), John, Ruth (Hadley), Timothy, Sr Mary Grace, Phillip, Matthew, Thomas, and Andrew, along with their spouses. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Marie (Landry) Goddard, brothers Arthur and Donald, sister Marion, children Peter and Michelle, granddaughters Rachel and Jillian, and great-granddaughter Olivia.

He kept the faith. He fought the good fight. He has finished the race. (2 Timothy 4:7) Special thanks to his caregivers as well as the nurses and support staff at the Exeter hospital. Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday March 6, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, NH.
