Wayne A. Manni

Ayer, MA - Wayne A. Manni, 72, formerly of Littleton, passed away on December 29, 2025. He was born in Concord on January 6, 1953, the son of Kaarlo and Elsa (Bergstrom) Manni. He married Deborah Basnett in July of 1976.

His childhood was spent in the woods and on the water at Lake Matawanakee. Wayne worked for his father, Kaarlo Manni, along with his brother David in the family construction business before starting his own business, Wamo Construction. He later joined Platt Builders.

Wayne was predeceased by his wife Debbie and leaves behind his son Kaarlo Manni II, and siblings Sonja (Manni) Sokol, David Manni and his wife Irene, Charlotte (Manni) Riordan and her husband John. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He loved grilling, smoking fish and cheese, and making sausages. He enjoyed coffee, beer, martinis and bourbon while playing music or talking in his kitchen or garage with his many friends. He listened to folk and blues, watched SpongeBob, the Three Stooges, cooking shows and old westerns.

Wayne was a talented carpenter and incredibly creative. He was a true artist who made garden arbors, metal fountains and shower heads. He worked with his son Kaarlo and the Cub Scouts teaching them how to build their own kayaks.

He loved camping with family and friends at Nauset beach, hosting clam bakes and pig roasts. He played guitar and was self taught, this was before YouTube which he loved and used for everything. He enjoyed building model planes with many intricate pieces. He would laugh when they crashed and then would set about to repair them. He hunted and fished, rode and built motorcycles, snow and water skied and he was a certified scuba diver in recovery.

Wayne had a few dogs and spoke fondly of Mickey and Farrow but his last and coolest dog was Taz, always showing up with him buckled in the front seat.

There wasn't an item he couldn't fix or a problem he couldn't solve. He was a generous friend who lent his time, skills and equipment. He was always up for a good time or laugh. It was a trip just knowing him.

Wayne had more than his share of health difficulties that he met with grace and, most of the time, with humor. For a man who had more reasons to complain, he never did. He would say that he was God's crash test dummy. Wayne would bring his health care providers smoked salmon and his personality of fun overrode his struggles. He will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held May 17 from
1-5pm at the Littleton VFW, 21 Taylor Street
