Wayne A. Steinmetz, 82, of Plainfield Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 20, 2025. Born on January 6, 1943, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Alvin and Hazel Steinmetz of North Bangor.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Bangor High School. Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple pleasures of nature—gardening, spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes.
He was predeceased by his beautiful, beloved wife of nearly 52 years, Joy Steinmetz (Savitz), as well as by his brother John Steinmetz and sister Judy Werner. In later years, Wayne found companionship and love again with Barbara Frace, his devoted wife of five years.
Wayne is lovingly remembered by his sister Joyce Wickett; his son Eric W. Steinmetz and wife Amy of Stroudsburg; his daughter Amy J. Groff and husband David of Bangor; granddaughter Jessi E. Steinmetz and partner; grandson Macenzy M. Groff and wife Emily, and grandson Eric S. Steinmetz; great-grandson William C. Hawk Jr.; and step-granddaughter Kaitlyn Owens Lake and her family. He also leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews and their families, many cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched over the years.
Services will be held privately.
