Wayne Lee Wyckoff, 76, passed away on February 25, 2026. Born on May 28, 1949, on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, Wayne lived a life defined by freedom, faith, creativity, and unwavering love for his family.
Wayne spent 34 wonderful years in Kildeer, Illinois, before moving to Cary, Illinois, where he lived the final five years of his life. No matter where he was, he carried an independent spirit — a true free soul who did things his way, with confidence, grit, and heart.
He was the proud owner of Biltmore Construction, a company that reflected his vision, craftsmanship, and relentless work ethic. Wayne was a creative force — the kind of man who could fix anything, build anything, and always make it better than it was before. He trusted his instincts, worked with his hands, and poured himself into everything he created. He also worked alongside his wife in real estate, a partnership that reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and the strength of their life together.
In 1972, Wayne married the love of his life, Holly JuKich Wyckoff. Their marriage was rooted in devotion, loyalty, laughter, and faith. Together they built a life that was bold, steady, and full of love.
Wayne was a proud and devoted father to his son, Zachary Seth Wyckoff (Krystalyn Kroll Wyckoff), and his daughter, Whitney Wyckoff Hicks (Kyle Casey Hicks). Becoming "Pop" to his grandson, Hunter Wayne Wyckoff, was one of his greatest joys. His family was his pride, his legacy, and the anchor to his adventurous spirit.
Wayne loved motorcycles, water-skiing, boating, grilling, and his dogs. He didn't just enjoy life — he lived it fully. He elevated joy in every room he entered and had a way of turning ordinary days into unforgettable moments. Strong yet deeply kind, generous with his time, and always the first to help someone in need, Wayne was the kind of man people counted on. He was fearless in spirit, steady in character, and undeniably cool — an all-around badass in the very best sense of the word.
His faith in Jesus Christ shaped who he was. Wayne was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Willow Creek Community Church for over 25 years. His love for Jesus guided his life, grounded his family, and gave him a quiet strength that carried him through every season.
Wayne was a builder of things — homes, businesses, memories — but most of all, he was a builder of people. He leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, faith, and freedom.
He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those blessed to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
