Wendy Beyer passed away from complications of Parkinson's at home in New York City on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 18, 1939, in Nottingham, England, Wendy moved to the United States in 1964. She lived a full and vibrant life marked by creativity, courage, and dedication to those around her.

Wendy's kindness touched many lives and her creative talents were evident to everyone she knew. Whether quilting, cooking, hooking rugs, working on her loom, practicing photography, improving her French and Italian language skills, knitting by the fire, or digging in her gardens, Wendy brought a sense of joy to everything she did.

She also had a passion for horseback riding, embracing the outdoors with a sense of freedom. In her later years would take never ending walks thru the streets of NYC. She even completed the "The Great Saunter", the 32 mile walk around the perimeter of Manhattan. Her hobbies were not just pastimes but expressions of her deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Wendy will be deeply missed by her husband John Beyer (Jack), her life's love. Their marriage was a beautiful love story filled with pure admiration and respect for one another. Often seen holding hands, their mutual interest in music, culture, the arts, and traveling abroad was apparent in everything they did.

Wendy is remembered by her husband, Jack; her daughter, Kay Childs (Hilary); her sons, Henry (Laurie) and Charles (Maura); her stepdaughters, Liz and Sophie Beyer; and her 9 grandchildren, Janiva Ellis, Andrew, Charlotte and Lila Childs, Jayden Beyer and Arthur, William, Audrey and James Beyer. She was predeceased by her stepdaughter Katie Beyer.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in her remarkable journey.
