Wendy Ann Brand

Wendy Brand-Smith, 80, of Bryn Mawr, PA, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Wendy was born on May 12, 1945, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, pre-deceased by her parents Myrtle and John Croucher. She is survived by her husband John Smith, 3 children Michael Brand, Lyndsey Brand (John Paul), Laura Brand Sias (Jim), five grandchildren—Lilly, Emma, Kinley, Tobin, and Karter—and siblings Leslie, David Croucher, and Jane Crutchfield.
Wendy lived a full life, starting her early years in Canada before settling permanently in Philadelphia. She studied at Sir George University, married Dave Brand, and had three children. Later, she became an interior designer, gained American citizenship, and remarried John Smith who served as a best friend and life partner.
Wendy was known for her creativity in design, earning a degree from Moore College after raising her children. She spent endless hours in her own studio and Wayne Art Center, with artwork featured at many events including the Devon Horse Show. Her lively partnership with John, was exemplified in small part through their creative collaborations on “Sunset Socials” at St Davids Golf Club which was enjoyed by all of her close friends.
Wendy’s light came from her love of family and most importantly her grandchildren – who were her biggest source of her pride.
