Wendy Sue Milner-Calloway (WS Milner), 76, passed away on August 9th, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, from complications of cancer surgery.
Wendy was born in Lansing, Michigan, December 5th, 1948, during a raging snowstorm, to Jackie Lightener and Frederick Charles, Milner.
Wendy grew up in Woodland Hills, CA, graduated from Taft High School in 1966. She received her BA in English Literature from San Franciso State University (1970), and later, an MFA in Theater.
Wendy was married to David Calloway in a field in 1971, at Calabasas, California. She wore flowers in her hair and baked the bread.
Wendy worked in theater, film, and television as a designer and writer. Later, she would become Vice-President of Design for the Siodmak Company. Her novel, "Lost in Translation", was published by Warner Books. She loved and wrote poetry and was co-founder of the Mossy Rock Poetry Club.
Wendy was an accomplished Sculptor, producing series' of art that commented on myth, the environment, and her personal journey through life. Her art was shown in many exhibitions and galleries.
Wendy followed the teachings of Pema Chodron, a Tibetan Buddhist Nun.
Wendy is survived by her husband David, daughter Doris Calloway Maxwell, son Peter Alexander Calloway, and four fabulous granddaughters. Wendy was preceded in death by her brother Derf Scratch.
A Celebration of Life was held September 20th, 2025 at the Los Angeles Yacht Club.
