Wesley Conner Baldwin, 37, of Jacksonville Beach, FL passed away on February 18th, 2026, leaving behind a wake of love, music, laughter, and a long list of people who are better for having known him.
Born on August 27th, 1988, in Jacksonville, Florida, Wes approached life with passion, confidence, and just enough mischief to make it interesting. He packed more living into 37 years than many do in a lifetime.
He was a gifted athlete, serving as both a standout kicker and a dedicated soccer player for Godby High School. He carried that same drive into his work as a registered nurse and recently in pursuing his Nurse Practitioner degree to support those facing mental illness and addiction.
He had endless hobbies and somehow mastered them all. You could find him chasing waves at sunrise, casting a line in the evenings, shredding mountain trails on his bike, and carving fresh powder in the winter. If there was a guitar nearby, it was only a matter of time before he was playing and singing, usually getting everyone else to join in whether they planned to or not. You could find him in the pit at any show, sweating and singing all the lyrics right into your ear. He thrived in the kitchen just as much as he did outdoors. His meals brought people together, and the kitchen cleanup became part of the family tradition.
To know Wes was to feel seen. Friends describe him as a light, full of warmth and a spirit that lifted everyone around him. He truly never met a stranger. Five minutes into a conversation with him, you’d feel like an old friend. Ten minutes in, you’d probably be invited surfing, fishing, or over for dinner. He had the rare ability to make every person he spoke to feel like the most important one in the room, and he meant it. His presence was magnetic, his spirit infectious, and his laugh unforgettable.
He is predeceased in death by his paternal grandfather Dr. Charles A. Baldwin (Lake City), maternal grandmother MaryAnn Kozlowski (Amsterdam, NY), and paternal grandfather Nicholas Fratangelo (Amsterdam, NY).
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Baldwin, his loving parents Charlie and Tammy Baldwin (Jacksonville), paternal grandmother, Bette Baldwin (Tallahassee) his older brother, Ed Baldwin (Mindy Baldwin), nephew Austin and niece Aubrey Baldwin (Jacksonville) and sister, Hailey Baldwin and partner, Aled Herbert (Scotland), aunt Gail Michalski (Eddie), cousin Kolbe Michalski (Amsterdam, NY), aunt Amy Baldwin, uncle Jeff Ard (Lisa) and cousin Jeffrey Ard (Tallahassee) his beloved Vizsla, Rio and a community of friends who will continue telling his stories.
While 37 years feels far too short, the life he lived was anything but small. His songs will still be played. His recipes will still be attempted, though probably never quite replicated. His adventurous spirit will live on in every sunrise surf session, every mountain ride, and every gathering filled with music and good food.
