Wesley Ray Ming (Wes) of Vicksburg, Ms sadly and unexpectedly passed away on December 20th, 2025 at 49 years old.
Wes was the youngest child born to the Rev. Ray Ming and Margaret Ming.
Wes grew up playing many sports, including baseball and soccer. He graduated from Vicksburg High school. He attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with a BA in Broadcast Journalism.
Wes worked for many years at the Vicksburg Post before later becoming a Surveyor. He most recently worked alongside his brother, Dickey, and cherished every moment he had with him.
Everyone who knew Wes, knew his love for music, and while he loved a wide range of musicians, including Billy Strings, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson, he especially loved the jam band, Widespread Panic, attending as many of their concerts over the years as he possibly could, seeing them live over 200 times.
Wes also had a great love for films and film making. During his colorful career, he wrote screenplays and worked on the camera crew of some well known films, including A Time to Kill and The Scoundrel's Wife.
Wes was a good man, a great friend, and he was loved by many.
His greatest love of all was the love he had for his precious children, Molly and David.
Wes will be greatly missed by all who loved him, including his children Molly and David, their mother Neely, his brother Dickey, his two sisters Suzi and Lori, and his closest and dearest friends, Jerry Derivaux and Jennifer Hoover.
Wes, you will be forever remembered and always missed. Save us all a spot in Heaven. Until we meet again, dear friend. "Right on"
