Wilda Lee Richard (Welch), age 93 of Alachua, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026.
Wilda was a traditional Southern Woman in every sense of the word - strong, loving, and the best cook you would ever meet! She devoted her life to her family and to shaping the lives of countless others.
Wilda raised her family in Tampa, where she and her beloved husband, John Richard founded B&R Ranch Summer Camps in the 1950's. Together they built a place that became an icon in the community. Over four decades, children had the invaluable experience of being taught by Mrs. Richard in the classroom, while learning to ride horses and swim, among other life skills at B&R Ranch.
Wilda was the solid foundation of her family - strong as a rock and always supportive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard, her sons Glenn Richard and Wayne Richard, and her grandson, Jesse Richard.
Wilda is survived by her son, Brad Richard and his wife, Kelly Richard; her daughter-in-law, Angela Richard; her grandchildren, Kim Gulino (Richard), John Richard, Rachel Foster (Richard), Tina Wagner (Richard), Brad Richard, Jr., and Ashley Richard; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private grave-side service at the Richard Family Cemetery in Alachua, Florida.
