Wilhelm "Bill" Alexander Nemetz, 85, of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on March 19, 2026, alongside his beloved wife of 48 years, Janice Nemetz (née Giorgio).
Bill was born on March 12, 1941, in Germany, to the late Wilhelm Nemetz and Rosa Nemetz (née Poczak). After immigrating to America with his family, they settled in Bridgeton, NJ, where he attended school. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Drexel University College of Engineering.
In 1979, Bill married Janice, and together they built a life filled with love and adventure. They resided in King of Prussia, PA, where Bill spent much of his career with Philadelphia Gear Corporation before retiring from Fetterolf Corporation in Skippack, PA.
An avid skier and member of the Valley Forge-King of Prussia Optimist Club and Valley Forge Ski Club, Bill's passion for skiing took him from the Pocono Mountains and Vermont to destinations as far as Switzerland. His slalom technique was unmatched - fluid, precise and effortlessly graceful as he carved his way down the slopes.
Summers earlier in life were spent sailing on the Cohansey River and later enjoying pontoon boat rides with his grandchildren on Beech Mountain Lakes in Drums, PA where he and Jan had a second home. When not outdoors, Bill could often be found playing cards or Sudoku with a mechanical pencil always in hand. He also enjoyed following and trading in the stock market and tending to his garden.
After retirement, Bill and Janice embraced their shared love for travel. Their adventures spanned from Spain and Portugal to Hawaii, Italy, Germany and beyond. At home, Bill found joy relaxing with a Courvoisier while watching classic television shows like Matlock, Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote.
Bill is survived by his wife and best friend Janice; son Steven Cluthe (Michelle Terebinski); daughter Sheron Campbell (Joseph); grandchildren Michael and Krista Campbell; sister Irene Ganter (Frank); nephew Mark Ganter (Nicole) and his great-niece Jackie Ganter and great-nephew Chris Ganter. He was predeceased by his niece Kristina Ganter and nephew Eric Ganter.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Tidewell Hospice at www.TidewellHospice.org.
