William Everett Ausbun "Bill"
William Everett Ausbun, born May 15, 1942, in Tacoma, Washington, passed away on November 27, 2025.
Bill was the son of Myrtle and Rosco Ausbun and was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Don; his sisters, Nancy and Jeanie Fay; and his grandson, Bobby Ausbun. He spent his life building, fixing, teaching, and quietly looking out for the people around him. He worked most of his career as a mill operator and cement finisher, but those titles barely scratched the surface of what he could do. A true jack of all trades, Bill could paint, sew, make his own ammunition, hunt, fish, practice photography, and even pick a winning horse at the track.
He had a special place in his heart for youth sports and community. During the 1970s and 1980s, Bill coached many young people in Sumner in both baseball and football, leaving a lasting impact on generations of kids through his time, patience, and steady encouragement.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Ausbun; his children, Willie Ausbun (wife Lynn), Jeffery Ausbun, Scott Ausbun, Angela Holland (husband Jamie), and Jack Motz. He will also be remembered fondly by his four grandsons, Daryl, Lee, Hunter, and Lane; his five granddaughters, Lacey, Carly, Haley, Meggie, and Hope; and his great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ahri, Lily, Abe, LaKiya, and Daylen, as well as extended family, friends, former players, and all those whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Frontier Park Lodge in Graham, Washington. All are welcome.
Bill's life was defined by hard work, skill, generosity, and a willingness to help whenever he was needed. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
