William "Bill" J Burdette

Bill Burdette, age 67, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 9, 2026 in Augusta, Maine. Predeceased by his mother - Billy was the beloved son of Irene Ida Burdette (Greenough). He was born on October 13, 1958 in Chelsea, MA

The devoted husband to Lucy Burdette (Peters), spending 40 years by each other's sides. They share four children, and seven grand and great grandkids together. The loving father of Bridgette Wolf - Crowley (Burdette) and her husband Christopher, Joseph Burdette and his partner Erika Bishop, Anthony Peters, and Melissa Burdette. His cherished grandchildren Madison, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Morgan, Jase, Hunter, and great grandson Tatum. He absolutely loved supporting all their many activities and accomplishments. Especially making Christmas extra special.

He was predeceased by his life long childhood friend Suzie Welch, and his dear sisters Peggy Burdette and Valerie Denton. He is survived by his sister Roberta Estrada. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Charlestown kid and a "Townie" to his core. Of course, an avid Boston sports fan, especially rooting for the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Bruins.

He will be remembered for his dedicated work with A.A. (Alcoholics Anonymous). A long time trusted guide and mentor for 23 years. He is credited for helping, encouraging and saving many wonderful souls. Family, friends, and friends who became family.

Billy had a fighting spirit that never faded. No matter what life threw his way, he had a way of rising again—like a phoenix from the ashes.
