William "Bill" L. Maruchi, Jr.

William L Maruchi, Jr. “Bill” died at his home in Martigny, Switzerland on March 28, 2026 at age 74. He was born and grew up outside Philadelphia, graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, proudly served for 5 years in the Marine Corps, and then received an MBA from Harvard Business School. A lifelong dream had been to live in Switzerland, and he achieved that in 1982 while working for many years at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Geneva, followed by senior management positions with other hi-tech companies.

Survivors include his daughter, Alicia Maruchi Harrell (David), grandchildren Olivia and Thomas, sisters Hope Walker and Sandy Maruchi-Turner, and nieces. He also leaves behind many loyal and close friends from his Swiss neighborhood and DEC days as well as from high school and the Naval Academy.
