Send Flowers
William Scott Boyle left us on January 12, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Kathy Boyle, and their sons Jamie, Scotty, Kenan, and Kevin.

Scott was born in San Francisco and graduated from Lincoln High School. He served in the US Army as a part of the “Fighting 347th” and as a Patrolman for the San Rafael Police Department. He excelled in sales and was a small business owner. He eventually returned to law enforcement and retired from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department.

Scott’s passions and hobbies included rowing, woodworking, fishing, performing magic tricks for his grandchildren, vacationing at Sveadal, writing, and listening to Tony Bennett’s music.

Early in their courtship, Scott took Kathy to a Tony Bennett concert. Despite not knowing him, Scott walked Kathy backstage and made the following introduction: “Kathy, I’d like you to meet my good friend, Tony Bennett.”

Scott was a stalwart man in his community and friendships. More than anything, he was dedicated to his family.

Scott will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a master storyteller who commanded a room and brought laughter to those around him. His family will remember him as a loving father who spent time with them planning adventures, playing games, coaching their teams, and just enjoying a good cigar and conversation.

Found in our father’s writings:
Don’t cry for me. I was born to two loving parents and raised with two wonderful siblings. I married a smart beautiful woman who was also a great mother to our five terrific children. I’m not a religious man, but I’d like to thank whoever was responsible, maybe I’ll know soon.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carol Boyle, and his brother Rick. He is now reunited with his beloved daughter Melissa, with whom he is dancing and laughing with once again.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, sons Jamie, Scotty, Kenan, Kevin and their spouses, as well as his sister Susan Hoff. Scott leaves behind eleven grandchildren who affectionately knew him as Grumpy.

A celebration of life will be held at Finnegan’s Marin in Novato on March 26th, from 12-3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Sveadal, 1031 Cherry Avenue #39, San Bruno, CA 94066 or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, T2T.org
