Send Flowers
William (Bill) Deger, a man whose faith was the cornerstone of his life, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Bill was born in Philadelphia on October 31, 1945, to the late Nicholas (Nick) and Louise Deger. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, his brother, and his sister, Barb.
A graduate of Lasalle University, Bill spent a significant part of his life in SH (Stone Harbor). He had a distinguished professional career, serving for over 25 years as an Executive Vice President for a national management consulting firm. Guided by his love for the shore, he later embraced his entrepreneurial calling, successfully operating a canvas company in Stone Harbor for a decade.
Bill lived a life filled with joy and thankfulness for God's gifts. He treasured dancing with his beloved wife and friends, enjoying time on the boat, and had a great appreciation for cars, dogs, and fishing. Above all, he found peace and exhilaration in surfing the waves. In his retirement, Bill dedicated his time and talents to serving others. He spent many years assisting with the annual Nuns Beach Surf Contest, a charitable effort benefiting the nuns' convent in Stone Harbor.
Bill and Kathy spent their summers at the Jersey Shore before finally moving to Jensen Beach, Florida, where he lived out his retirement years. His commitment to Christ was evident in his service. In Jensen Beach, he was an active member of several churches and selflessly volunteered his time. Bill dedicated himself to works of compassion by feeding the homeless, faithfully driving cancer patients to their treatments, and extending a helping hand to friends in need, embodying the Gospel's call to love thy neighbor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy; his son, Bill (Heidi); his cherished grandchildren, Carley (Ryan) and Daniel; and his precious great-grandchildren, Cooper, Bowie, and Seanna. He is also survived by his niece, Barb (Bob). His family takes comfort in knowing he is now rejoicing in Heaven.
