William Michael (Bill) Diamond passed away December 20, 2025, in Miami, Florida.

A native of Miami, Bill was born on June 13, 1940. He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School in 1958 where he was named most valuable player of the football team and was a state champion on the track and field team his senior year. A gifted athlete, Bill was offered athletic scholarships to several universities. He chose to sign with the University of Miami, where he quickly became a starting lineman on the football team and earned his bachelor's degree in education. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals of the NFL but opted to join the Dallas Texans of the American Football League under coach Hank Stram. When the team relocated to Kansas City to become the Chiefs, Bill played his final season there.

After his professional football career, Bill returned to Miami, where he taught and coached football and track for several years at Miami Springs High School. He later earned a graduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, continuing his commitment to education and leadership. Bill built a long career with State Farm Insurance, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was an avid supporter of his alma mater. He was a longtime member of the Hurricane Club and attended Miami Hurricane football games for many years. He also truly enjoyed traveling and snow skiing throughout the United States and Europe with family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Nellie (Sroka) Diamond and his brother Charlie. He is survived by his son Michael, daughter Kathy, son in law Preston, grandchildren Ethan and Virginia and brother Stephen.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
