William Richard "Dick" Howe, 91, of Lincoln, California, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.

Dick was born on July 2, 1934, to Arthur and Dorothy Howe in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The eldest of six children and a proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class (GM3), Gunner's Mate during the Korean War. His military service helped shape the steady character, strong work ethic, and devotion to family and country that defined his life. Following his service, Dick went on to enjoy a long and dedicated career as a Teamster.

Dick met the love of his life, Janice, while on liberty in San Francisco in 1953. They fell in love and were married just one month later, beginning a partnership that would last 68 wonderful years. Together they raised four children and, in 1964, relocated to California to be closer to Janice's family and to pursue new opportunities. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to family.

Dick retired from Lucky Stores in 1996 and was among the first residents to move to Sun City Lincoln Hills in 2000. There, he and Janice formed many lasting friendships and created many special memories through community activities, clubs, and travel.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and consistently put the needs of others before his own. He found joy in life's simple pleasures: spending time with family, dancing with his beautiful wife, listening to country music, enjoying good food, playing cribbage, and working with his hands. He was a dedicated baseball and football enthusiast who followed every league, but his loyalty lied with the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dick is survived by his loving daughters, Sherry Graham (Bill) and Janice Aasen (Bob); seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers David Howe (Bernie) and Arthur Howe Jr. (Betty); sisters Ethel Quinlan and Carol Rekowski; brother-in-law Roy Howe (Darlene); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janice; daughter Jean Conrad; son David Howe; grandson Jimmy Silva; parents Dorothy and Arthur Howe Sr.; and brother Ronald Howe (Donna).

Dick is remembered for his deep devotion to family, his kind and generous spirit, and his wonderful sense of humor. His presence filled every room, and his laughter brought joy to everyone around him. He will be deeply loved and missed by all who were blessed to know him. There was truly nobody like him—a remarkable man in every way.
