William “Bill” Marcks, age 83, of Orange, CT passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 with his loving son by his side. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and resided in Orange for most of his life.
Bill graduated from Eli Whitney technical high school in 1961 and went on to serve in the Army for 8 years. He then worked in the printing and auto industry until he retired.
Bill loved working on his classic cars and was often seen at the Heavenly donuts car show on Sunday evenings. He was also a pizza lover and enjoyed visiting various pizza restaurants but his favorite was Pepe’s in New Haven. He also loved his cats, Biggie and Jiggy.
But above everything else, his greatest role was that of Dad and Pa. He adored his son and two granddaughters and enjoyed spending time with them on the weekends going out for breakfast, playing in the yard, and attending his granddaughter’s dance recitals. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to not take life too seriously.
Bill is survived by his son Robert Marcks of Orange as well as his two granddaughters Kylie and Aubree Marcks. He is predeceased by his birth parents Josephine Cappola and Mario Recchia and his adoptive parents Joseph and Susan marcks.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at United Presbyterian church in Milford at 10am for all of those who wish to attend.
