William Robert Martino, Sr.

1936 - 2026

William Robert Martino, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026.

William dedicated more than 35 years of service to Commonwealth Edison, where he served as Superintendent of Chicago substations. Following his retirement, he continued sharing his expertise as a consultant for ADT Security Link.

Deeply committed to his community, William was the founder and president of Little Boys T-Ball baseball. He authored the league's rule book, Batter Up, and was instrumental in acquiring unused land to build a new baseball diamond, creating a space for children to play and grow. In recognition of his volunteerism and dedication, he was honored by Moose Lodge International with the Pilgrim Degree. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved watching the games with his dear friend Kevin.

Above all, William was a devoted family man. He is survived by his daughters, Marianne Yassine (Joe) and Maureen Martino; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene, with whom he shared more than 60 years of marriage; his son, William Robert Martino, Jr.; and his parents, Alice and Michael Martino.

A private memorial service has been planned for immediate family.
