William Paul Nyman, 89, of Grand Blanc, Michigan took his final journey in this life when the Lord called him home in August of 2024. He left behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Jacqueline Ann Straka Nyman. Grieving loved ones include his two daughters, Stacey Armstrong (Mark) and Melissa Varterasian (John), grandchildren Austin Armstrong (Kristen), Alexa Armstrong Provenzano, Carly Armstrong, three great grandchildren and several cherished friends.
William was a graduate of Kearsley High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon returning home he attended Michigan State University and began his distinguished career in banking at Genesee Bank in Flint. He retired after 68 honorable years as a Vice President at Chase Bank in the Detroit area.
He and his wife were lifelong members of St. John Vianney Church in Flint. He was a community volunteer serving in the Troy Rotary, Knights of Columbus, Henry Ford Genesis Hospital volunteers and several community appointments including support for the annual Crim Festival of Races. He supported local arts in Flint, the humane society, armed forces, and public servants of the community. He loved his family, friends, pets, and neighborhood.
William is interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI where he awaited his wife to join him until March of 2026. A celebration of life for both William and Jacqueline will be forthcoming.
