William Page passed away on December 23rd. Bill returned to his home in the water and the air and the earth. He was 84 when he died, sitting in a kayak, fishing, doing the thing he loved most in the world.
Bill left a wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brothers. He loved his children very much, and he showed his love in of his many quirks and quiet ways.
Bill was a man who lived his life intensely. An artist, storyteller, and lover of history, he sought his dreams and learned every skill to perfection. Bill will be remembered as a gentle man who loved animals and nature, plants flourished in his hands and bees and possum thrived. Chickens were some of his best friends.
Everyone who encountered Bill liked him. If you knew him, you understood that he was one of those rare people who are truly special. The people who change the lives of those around them and leave a hole when they are gone.
The world is a lesser place now that he is gone, but it is so much greater because he was once here. Bill made a difference to every person he met, and every animal that crossed his path.
He will be missed greatly; but somewhere he's out there, sitting in his boat, the fog wrapping him in his silence as he casts the rod again.
