William F. Parsons, age 95, passed away quietly in hospice in Colorado Springs on December 19, 2025. He was born in 1930 in Old Town, ME, the eldest of 3 children (including Patricia and Ronald) to Shirley and Lillian (Martin) Parsons. The family later moved to Wilton NH where Bill attended Wilton HIgh School, served as an altar boy, played basketball, earned valedictorian honors and met his future wife, Rose Anna Faulkner. They were married in 1952.

As a child of the Depression, Bill learned the importance of hard work and self-reliance, especially as his father had to convalesce for lengthy periods due to a leg problem, and his mother had to pursue factory work. He became a de facto parent to his siblings. His lifetime love of woodworking, especially carving, began in these early years. Bill had a passion for building things and so he earned an associate's degree from Wentworth Institute in Boston in construction management, in 1952. In the Army in 1952-53, serving at Fort Indiantown Gap, Leavenworth, PA, Bill was a draftsman in support of the 5th Infantry Division.

After the Army, Bill gained employment with Bell Telephone Co. in New York state, eventually settling down in Buffalo, NY where he and Rose raised their four sons (William A., Michael, David and Daniel). He worked for Bell Telephone his entire career, retiring in 1987 as a Manager of a construction planning department. Family highlights included several cross-country camping trips during summer vacations. Bill continued his hobby of woodworking and cabinet-making during all these years. Pieces of his craftsmanship are still held and cherished today by family and close friends.

Upon retirement, Bill took up sailing, skiing, golf and ballroom dancing. He and Rose relocated back to Wilton in 1988 where they had purchased land, and to care for aging parents. It is here where Bill realized a lifetime dream: he (nearly singlehandedly) built his own lovely 3-bedroom retirement home. He also worked part-time in the Wilton town planning office as a draftsman/surveying assistant.

Later, they relocated to Florida, pursued golf, traveling and ballroom dancing. Sadly, Rose passed in 2008 and several years later Bill relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.

Bill was a quiet, even-tempered, strait-laced man, proud of his New England heritage. He was also very proud that his four sons all achieved higher educations, and had fulfilling careers. He is survived by William A. (Linda), Michael (Elizabeth), David (Margaret) and Daniel (Verena) as well as his nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was cremated and his ashes will be spread on family property in Colorado, in Spring, 2026 where he will join Rose in perpetuity.
