William E. Patterson, Jr., age 80, of Perkiomen Twp., PA, died Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Phoenixville Hospital.
Bill was born on April 2, 1945, in Norristown, PA, to the late William E., Sr., and Helen T. (Hallman) Patterson. He was a graduate of Schwenksville High School and served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967.
Before retiring, Bill was the Chief of Operations for the Emergency Communications Division of Montgomery County’s Dept. Of Public Safety where he also worked with Montgomery Co. 911. He also worked for Perkiomen Twp., JO Sacks Bus Co., Student Transportation Of America and was a former Perkiomen Twp Police officer.
Bill was a lifelong community servant. He joined Perkiomen Twp Fire Co. in 1963. He was the current Treasurer, a position that he held for 50 years, and is a life member. He was a former Line Officer as well as Past Chief. He was also an Honorary member of the Collegeville Fire Co. Bill was active in the Township and was a former Perkiomen Twp Supervisor, former Perkiomen Twp Fire Marshall, former Perkiomen Twp Emergency Management Coordinator, former member of the Sewer Authority, Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation.
Bill is survived by his siblings, Robert E., husband of Trudy (Young) Patterson, North Wales, PA, Betty J., wife of the late Salvatore “Sonny” Fisicaro, Schwenksville, PA, and Barbara J., wife of Christopher P. McMahon, Red Hill, PA; ten nieces and nephews; and sixteen great-nieces and nephews.
Bill’s memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 7th, at the Perkiomen Twp. Fire Company. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45 AM, Saturday at the fire company (parking available at Perkiomen Valley High School). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perkiomen Twp.
