William Pither

William Pither, originally of Yonkers, New York, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Linda Luvera, who passed in May of this past year.

He was the son of William and Mary Pither, and brother to Ernest Pither. He was the father of Janine Yedowitz, Laura Traudt, and Catherine Pither, and the loving grandfather of Sabrina Gordon, Olivia Gordon, and Nicholas Gordon. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Lilegh McKenna, who was born on his birthday last year.

A friend of Bill W. for over 50 years, Bill lived a life of quiet resilience, personal growth and integrity. He was an avid Civil War historian, a collector of books and knowledge, and a man of dry wit and understated strength.

Those who knew him best remember his sharp mind, his acts of kindness, and his steady presence. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him and remembered with gratitude by those whose lives he quietly touched.
