William Paul Shea Jr., a dedicated family man and former resident of Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 85 years old.

Born on September 4, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, William was the son of the late William Paul Shea Sr. and Anna Helena (White) Shea. He grew up in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston and was a proud graduate of Hyde Park High School. His life was marked by service, hard work, and deep devotion to those closest to him.

A Life of Service and Industry

At the age of 18, William enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958. During his four years of service, William was a valued member of the 735th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron. As a skilled Radar Operator, he was stationed overseas in Morocco, contributing to the early warning defense network of the United States Air Force. His military career also included time stationed stateside at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. His commitment to his duties was a testament to his character and integrity.

Following his military tenure, William embarked on a long and steady career with the Polaroid Corporation. For 38 years, he contributed to one of the most iconic companies of its era, serving as a plant supervisor in Massachusetts until the company's closure in 2000—a testament to his remarkable loyalty and commitment. William later applied his professional skills by working as a funeral assistant and licensed member of family services for Dignity Memorial at Duckett Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons in Sudbury, Massachusetts, until he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2009.

Family and Legacy

William shared nearly six decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Dianne M. Shea. Their union spanned 59 years and was grounded in mutual respect and enduring companionship. Together, they raised their son, William P. Shea III.

He is also survived by his loving sister, Nancy S. Holske of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and his brother, Robert K. Shea of Foxborough, Massachusetts.

William will be remembered by those who knew him for his steadfast nature, his quiet strength, and the reliability he brought to every chapter of his life.
