William Anthony Sledge

William Anthony "Tony" Sledge age 66 of Mooreville, MS passed away after a brief battle with cancer on January 29, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1959, in Mobile, AL. Tony was known for his infectious laughter, sense of humor, his kindness, and his love for his family.
Tony is survived by his daughter Madeline Murphree and son-in-law Jon Young of Laws Hill, MS, daughter Katie Lynn Odom of Houston, TX and three grandchildren Bentley. Alice, and Eden. He is also survived by sister Linda Darnell Jackson and brother-in-law Fred Jackson of Easly, SC as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, who will cherish his memory. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Wesley Joseph Sledge and Mae Ethel "Renfroe" Sledge of Canton, MS, brothers Robert Wesley Sledge and James Walter "Jimmy" Sledge and sisters Paulette Sledge McLeod and Patricia "Pat" Ann Prevost.
A private memorial service for family and close personal friends will be held at a later date.
