Willie Reed Jr. was born on September 6,1955, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Willie Sr. and Nadine Reed. As the second of twelve siblings, Willie learned the importance of family from an early age and also accepted Christ. Willie was a devoted father, beloved grandfather, and a man of many talents. Known for his unwavering support, he was always there when his children needed him most. Willie found joy in fishing, cooking, attending football games, and playing cards, and was well known as one of the best chess players you could ever meet. He was also an animal lover, leaving behind his cherished dogs, Smokey, Candace, and Missy. Willie proudly served in the Army and later retired as a manager from a local grocery store. At the age of 70, Willie peacefully made his transition early Sunday morning, December 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving children at St. Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City.
He is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Sharon Diane Reed, his parents, Willie Reed Sr. and Nadine Reed, and his brothers, Robert, David, Bobbie, and Kenneth Reed.
