Willie Williams Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in Luling, Texas. Born on October 29, 1939, in the same town he would later return to in retirement, Willie's life was marked by dedication to his work, deep faith, and an unwavering love for his family.
Willie spent much of his professional life as a maintenance supervisor. He worked at The Trey Way Apartments until 1998 and then continued his career at London House Apartments until the age of 76. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to those around him. After retiring, he returned to Luling to be close to his family—a decision that reflected the core of who he was: a man who valued togetherness above all else.
He was a devoted father to his children: sons Tyreese Williams and Louis Pierre, and daughters Jenafia Williams and Karen Williams-Cheeks. His legacy continues through his many grandchildren—Tyler Williams, Tyvin Williams, Kevin Williams, Kayla Williams, Wallace Williams, Josh Pierre, Louis Pierre, Aaron Pierre, Yohan Sloss, Mike Halfman, David Halfman, and Connor Williams, Ellesse and Darius Cheeks—and great-grandchildren James Tyvin Williams, Avery Williams, Scarlett Williams, and Aiden Williams.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Buirl Williams and Oneida Threadgil-Williams; his brothers Henry Williams, Curtis Williams, Douglas Williams, and Louis Williams; and his sister Stella McBea.
A man of deep Christian faith, Willie believed wholeheartedly that God was always watching over him. He lived each day with the conviction that God was in charge—a belief that guided every aspect of his life. His spirituality was not just personal but evident in how he treated others—with kindness, generosity, and compassion.
Outside of work and family life, Willie found joy in simple pleasures. He loved fishing and BBQing—activities that often brought people together. Whether casting a line or tending a grill surrounded by loved ones and laughter, he created moments that will be cherished for generations. He also had a heart for helping others; giving came naturally to him.
Above all else, Willie wanted one thing: for his family to stay united and support one another. That wish remains a guiding light for those who knew him best.
Celebration of life services were held in Corpus Christi, Texas.
