Wilmon Cullers Jr., 79, passed away on January 10, 2026, at home in Ridgeway, SC. He died peacefully with family by his side. He was born on January 18, 1946, in Unadilla, GA, and raised in Hightstown, NJ. Wilmon was a graduate of Hightstown High School, Class of 1963. He later attended NC A&T in Greensboro, NC.
Wilmon had a distinguished career, initially as a chemist at Thiokol Corporation in Trenton, NJ, before dedicating 30 years as a water quality chemist at American Water Works in Pennsylvania, notably in Yardley and Easton. He eventually retired from The City of Camden Water Treatment Facility in South Carolina.
A devoted son, father, husband, and brother, Wilmon was cherished for his dedication to family and education. His late wife, Sheila Cullers, was a special education teacher for the Pennsbury School District, and together they raised their children in Levittown, PA, emphasizing the importance of education, respect, and dignity. Wilmon was a mentor to many, particularly supporting his extended family in their educational pursuits.
Wilmon loved fishing, whether in a creek, river, lake, or ocean, particularly enjoying deep sea fishing in Point Pleasant, NJ. His hobbies also included cooking, reading, and listening to Oldies and Blues music. His love for nature and science was evident as he continually sought to expand his knowledge.
Wilmon is survived by his daughters, Tarshia Weldon (Greene) and Valerie Stadelmaier (Cullers), son Wilmon G. Cullers III, granddaughter Danielle Weldon, grandson David Anthony McCune, great-granddaughters Victoria Weldon and Xuri Cullers, brothers Carl, Armstead, Ernie, and Edward Cullers, sister Helen Cullers, son-in-law Hector Echeverry, former wife Carolyn Cullers (Green) & family, and many relatives from the Highsmith & Bass Families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmon Cullers and Cora Lee Cullers (Bass), wife Sheila Cullers (Highsmith), grandson Jeraun Cullers, great-grandson Cruize Allen McCune, and sister Martha Cullers.
