Wilson Lloyd Hauck passed away unexpectedly on March 15 in Opelika, AL, from a massive heart attack. He was born in Millville, PA, on February 24, 1944, to Howard Heister Hauck (1901-1960) and Edna Irene McMurtrie Hauck (1917-2003) on the family homestead. Wilson graduated from Lakeland Senior High School in 1961.

Surviving siblings are Hazel Allen of Ooltewah, TN; Helen Jensen of Lakeland, FL; Iva Girtman of Bushnell, FL; Wilbur Hauck of Lakeland, FL; and Cindy Hauck of Yalaha, FL.

Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Sullivan Hauck (2024); sons Gary L. Hauck (2015) and Jeffrey L. Hauck (2010); and two sisters, Nina C. Hauck (2011) and Judy K. Hauck (2014).

Wilson and Anne met in Memphis, TN, and were later married on October 20, 1984. They lived in Memphis until moving to Birmingham in 1991, where Anne was originally from. Wilson was employed by Brookwood Baptist Health and served in the Primary & Specialty Care Network Department until September 1999.

Wilson and Anne were dedicated fans of Auburn University football, where they tailgated on many occasions, making wonderful memories with friends and family. They also thoroughly enjoyed being Rod Stewart fans, attending over 40 concerts and traveling as far as London to see their favorite singer.

Wilson was also an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Anytime he could be around a race car or sit in the driver's seat, he was ready to "rock and roll," doing burnouts every chance he got. He especially enjoyed working with the entire crew at Dale Jarrett Racing Adventures and was frequently praised for his kindness to participants.

Wilson and Anne were very active members of Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. Wilson participated several times in mission trips to Mexico, helping build schools and houses for those in need. This allowed him to share his faith while serving others. He was honored to have had these opportunities to serve his church and community.

A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026 at Independent Presbyterian Church, 3100 Highland Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35205-1408. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM in the parlor of the church, and the memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary. A brief public reception will be held afterward in the parlor of the church.
