Ysnelly Ortiz, born May 8, 1983, in New York City, passed away surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of the late Sandra Ortiz and Alexander Jiménez and was lovingly raised by her maternal grandmother, Genoveva Ortiz, and her maternal aunt, the late Beatrice Ortiz.
Ysnelly was a proud and devoted mother to her daughter, Ariana Cruz, who was the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She shared a loving life with her longtime partner, Adrian Cruz. Family meant everything to Ysnelly, and she found her greatest happiness in spending time with the people she loved most.
Known for her vibrant spirit and strong work ethic, Ysnelly truly loved life. Before her illness, she had a passion for fashion and always enjoyed dressing up and looking her best. She carried herself with confidence and style that reflected her beautiful personality.
Ysnelly faced cancer with incredible strength and determination. She fought a long and difficult battle and never gave up. She stayed strong for her daughter Ari and for all the people she loved. She was truly a fighter, holding on with courage and grace, but in the end her body could no longer endure the fight.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Ortiz; her aunt, Beatrice Ortiz; and her sister, Hanoi Garcia. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her father Alexander Jiménez; her grandmother Genoveva Ortiz; her beloved daughter Ariana Cruz; her longtime partner Adrian Cruz; her sisters Deborah Ross, Karen McNeill, and Eva Rojas; and her devoted cousins/brothers Omar Disla and Joshua Minaya, who stood by her every step of the way. She is also survived by many other cousins, relatives, and close friends whose lives were touched by her love, strength, and presence.
A viewing will be held at Ortiz Funeral Home, 2580 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Ysnelly’s life, share memories, and celebrate the love she brought to so many.
May God grant strength, comfort, and peace to all who loved her. Though her life was far too short, the love she gave and the strength she showed will remain with us forever.
Her greatest legacy lives on through her beloved daughter, Ari, who will forever carry her mother’s love, strength, and spirit in her heart.
