Yvonne Thomas Clark was born November 8th, 1946, to the late Albert Thomas Jr. and Janice Thomas in Birmingham Al, she was the first daughter and second born of their four children.
She had her early education in Cleveland Public Schools. She attended Audubon Jr. High near Woodhill Park, where she met Mathew K. Clark aka (Skip) this began a courtship which continued through high school, that lead to their marriage on March 12th, 1964. They remained married for 22 years. From this union was born three sons, Donnell Albert, Terry Mathis and Eric Kincaid which she considered her greatest accomplishment in life. In 1970 they would purchase their family home at 10805 Reno Ave.Shortly after she entered the childcare business opening Aladdin's Daycare Center which they owned and operated until 1979. Childcare remained a passion of Her's until she was no longer physically able to care for children. She later was employed by the Department of Health & Human Services until relocating to Columbus OH to join the ministerial staff at Truth Evangelist Center.
Yvonne gave her life to Christ at an early age, as she continued to grow in her faith, she would receive greater revelation of God's word leading her to commit her life to Christ fully and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. She would then answer a lifelong call to ministry that would begin in her family church Second Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Landis C. Brown Jr. She served in various offices in the church, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee and Evangelist. In 1985 along with her family she was released to serve and assist in the planting of Truth Evangelistic Center under the leadership of Bishop Brian K. Williams. She relocated to Columbus, Oh. where she served on the administrative and Pastoral staff of the church. In 1990 she returned to Cleveland and became one of the founding members of The Body of Christ Assembly under the leadership of her youngest son, Bishop Eric K. Clark. It was there that she became both an ordained Elder as well as appointed as an in-house Pastor. In 2006 after serving faithfully for 16 years she relocated to Charlote, NC where she continued to serve at then Christ Harvest Church now The Body of Christ Assembly Charlotte under the leadership of her middle son, Overseer Terry M. Clark Sr. She served there faithfully until the Lord called her home. While in Charlote she was inspired to continue her education and returned to school earning both a bachelor's and master's degree from Liberty University. She also became a Certified Christian Counselor.
Yvonne Clark leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Pastor Donnell Albert (Sharon) Overseer Terry Mathis Sr. (Meshelle) Bishop Eric Kincaid (Lynora), ten grandchildren, Yvette, Eric Jr., Terry Jr, Daniel (Lauren), Donnell Jr.
(LaAndrea, David, Devon, Ryan (Monique), Kory and Brandon. 15 great-grandchildren, three siblings, Curtis, Jagcqueline (deceased) Vanetta (Leonard)
