Yvonne Michelle Masters-Rush, 62, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. Born on July 28, 1962, in Miami, Florida, at Jackson Memorial Hospital, she arrived just ahead of her August due date, a moment her mother would remember for the rest of her life.

She was the beloved daughter of Beverly Rose Slagle, of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael James Masters, of Xenia, Ohio. Her name was a shared gift from both parents: Michael chose Yvonne, and Beverly chose Michelle, a name that would come to represent a woman of resilience, warmth, and unwavering love.

Although Michael was her biological father, it was Vernon Wesley Slagle, her stepfather, who lovingly raised her. He was a steady and selfless presence in Yvonne's life and later became the best grandfather her children could have ever asked for. His role in her life was a gift the entire family cherished. Vernon passed away on December 14, 2015, at the age of 83, and was called to be with the Lord. As a family, we hold onto the hope that Yvonne and Vernon have found one another again, reunited in peace and love beyond this life.

Beverly remembers the day Yvonne was born with vivid clarity. At the time, she was working for the Visiting Nurse Association and living independently in Miami. Her doctor, known for his quick action and desire to spare his patients pain, sent her directly to the hospital and placed her under anesthesia. When Beverly awoke, her daughter had already arrived. It was a moment of joy that marked the beginning of Yvonne's remarkable journey.

Yvonne grew into a devoted mother to two daughters: Leah Nicole Rush, 41, and Jessica Lee Rush, 38, both born in Largo, Florida. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering. She also found immense joy in being a grandmother to Jaythan Rylee Larrow, 17, and Arabella Rose Rush-Larrow, 13. Her grandchildren brought so much light into her life and were a source of great pride.

Those who knew Yvonne will remember her for her strength of spirit and sharp wit. She possessed an honesty that could be both bracing and comforting, a reflection of her deep integrity. Fiercely independent yet profoundly loyal to those she loved, Yvonne created a legacy rooted in compassion and authenticity.

Her presence enriched every room she entered; her laughter lingered long after conversations ended. Whether through quiet support or bold humor, she left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2025, at Tree Tops Park in Davie, Florida. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the life she lived so fully. E-invitations will be sent with more information.
