Yvonne Patricia Moore, 77, of 65 Rock Street, New Haven, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born on September 25, 1948, in New York, New York, Yvonne dedicated her life to her family and community. She retired from the New Haven Police Department after 26 years of service in the communications department, where her dedication and professionalism were admired by all that worked with her. Yvonne was known for her immense loved she shared with everyone around her. She built her life around her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and had a radiant smile that would brighten the whole room. She and her husband shared over 50 years of marriage, traveling the world together during his military service, including twice to Germany before settling in New Haven in the 1980s. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel L. White Sr. and Lovey White. Yvonne leaves behind her beloved husband Willie L. Moore, two sons, Malcolm and Micheal Moore, two grandsons Jordan and Ethan Carruth-Moore; and her brother Samuel L. White Jr. and his three children. She also leaves a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will always remember her warm, kind, welcoming spirit.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Gateway Community Fellowship Chapel, 109 Bull Hill Ln. West Haven, CT 06516 from 1pm to 4pm.
