MY REFLECTONS OF PETER IVERSON

I loved Peter, not just because he was a loving and devoted husband to one of my dearest friends, but for who he was as a person...He had a blind innocence to his nature. He did not see age, race, color or creed. He took people as they came to him...without judgement and with open arms. Peter had an innate hunger for knowledge, a love for life and respect for his fellowman. He had a hearty laugh that made you want to join in his party. He had a bright mind, a loving heart and a kind, gentle spirit. He was a good man...And his earthly presence will be sorely missed. I look forward to seeing him in heaven. Don't get me wrong, he was human. He had his faults, but right now I can't think of any...only fond memories. Rest in peace, my friend.

Diane, I think about you and Peter often, all the great times we shared in LA, NY and SF. Brother Iverson and I were very close and He will be in my heart forever. When Peter said "I am with you always," He meant it literally. He is not absent to anyone anymore, He will live in our hearts forever.

I am so glad that we were able to see Peter when he was last here in California. We have only warm memories of him. His name comes up time and time again (of course with smiles and laughs) and because of that he will never be forgotten. Kenny and I are sending you a big hug! We hope to see you again soon. I am so very sorry for your loss and the heavy hearts you have right now. I have a distant memory of visiting you and Peter up in L.A., Diane - with Beth and Kelley back in high school. It seems like another lifetime ago... but, I do remember we had a great time :) I hope the sorrow is replaced soon with smiles of sweet memories when you hear that song on the radio or find something that reminds you of him. Peter, you are a one of a kind! People like you don’t come by every day. I could always count on you to brighten my day and bring me back to what is important. It is easy to get caught up in all of the tough things that life brings and you always reminded me to appreciate the simple pleasures. I have known you for most of my life and it is hard to think that you are on to bigger and better things. I feel left behind, but I know that you will always be there, and I find comfort in that too. You are a great friend and I will miss you forever!
Diane, I know that you will find the strength to get through this loss of your Petey and if you ever need help finding that strength, I hope that you know that we are all here to help you find it. After all, that’s what we do best ‘‘If we can’t find it, it’s not lost” :) You two were always a great laugh together. Weather you were bickering or joking around, you always were a picture of love! You two were made for each other, in a way that most people only dream of finding. We all miss you here in Cali and hope that this hurts less a little bit each day. I was so lucky to have had dinner with you the last time I was in Dayton and it reminded me how I missed you living in L.A....and both of your wicked sense of humor!
