ANN WALKER Obituary

WALKER, ANN LUCAS Ann Lucas Walker age 78 of Indian Springs passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Ann was a lifelong resident of Central Alabama. She was the eldest of two daughters born to the late Clyde William Lucas and Lesta Cobb Lucas. Ann was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ann was preceded in death by her father Clyde William Lucas, mother, Lesta Cobb Lucas, husband Charles Phillip "Red" Walker, Sr., and son, Charles Phillip Walker, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Walker Beech (Chuck), her grandchildren Charles Phillip Walker, III (Marianne), Brittany Ann Walker Squires (Ashley), and Lucas Randol Beech (Haley). She is also survived by her great granddaughters Aubree Ann Walker and Alexis Faith "Lexi" Walker. She is survived by her sister Sue Lucas DeBoer (Larry) her nieces Sue Ann DeBoer, Tammy DeBoer Rowe (Clay), nephews Larry Peter DeBoer, Jr. (Carol), James Joppe DeBoer (Debi). She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews: Rebecca Rowe, Coston Rowe, Stephen Peter Rowe, Dylan DeBoer, Charley Rowe, Lindi DeBoer, Lani DeBoer, Joppe DeBoer and Kate DeBoer. Ann enjoyed life. She never met a stranger. She served Shelby County for nearly twenty years as the wife of Sheriff "Red" Walker. She was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She dearly loved her family and friends. She loved singing, dancing and telling a good story, usually one that would make you laugh. The family will receive friends at 12 noon on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Southern Heritage. A memorial service will follow visitation in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama. Her pastor, Donnie Acton, will officiate. >>

Dearest Wendy & family,
Such sad news takes a while to reach me in England (via Ashley), but you ALL are in my thoughts and prayers. We were one enlarged family and the memories I hold are so special.
