WILLIAM FULLER Obituary

FULLER, WILLIAM SIDNEY The Honorable William Sidney Fuller, 80, of Andalusia, Ala., died quietly at his home on March 11, 2012. Mr. Fuller was born August 9, 1931, in Auburn, Ala., to Dr. William Melton "Doc" Fuller and Mrs. Ernestine Torbert Fuller of Lafayette, Ala. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey Fuller; his two children, Jeffrey Melton Fuller of Grayson, Ga., and Barbara Rush Fuller of Ranger, Ga.; two grandsons, William Joseph Fuller and Jeffrey Maddox Fuller; and his sister, Mrs. Ernestine Rush Fuller Sugg of Waxhaw, N.C. He was a trustee to the Presbyterian Children's Home; deacon, elder, trustee and past chairman of the board of First Presbyterian Church of Andalusia, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher. His earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University, 1953; and LL.B in 1956, J.D. in 1969, from the University of Alabama Law School. He worked with U.S. District Judge Frank M. Johnson, Jr., as his first law clerk before entering private legal practice in Andalusia, Ala., (1957- 2011). He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, U.S. District Court and the Middle District of Alabama. He was a member of a number of legal organizations, and the past president of the Alabama Trial Lawyers. He was the Chairman of the Board of Southern National Corporation, and director and secretary for CCB Community Banks in Andalusia, Opp, and Crestview, Fla. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Andalusia at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Memorials should be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Andalusia and or the Presbyterian Children's Home in Talladega. >
