Dorothy Vizzier Obituary
Dorothy B. Vizzier
Dorothy B. Vizzier, of Fayetteville, AR, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the age of 92 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
In 1944 she married Benton A. Vizzier. She enjoyed life as a wife and mother, and in 1972 achieved her dream of becoming a nurse when she graduated from the University of Alabama with a BSRN. She worked in Huntsville Hospital and Veterans Administration Medical System until her retirement in 1992. She and her family moved to Mississippi in 2006 to be closer to family, then in 2011 they moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to be with her daughter.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Benton A. Vizzier, Sr., her children, Yvonne V. Thaxton, of Fayetteville, AR; son Michael and his wife Leigh of Coronado, CA; son Richard and his wife Gloria of Virginia Beach, VA; and son Benton, Jr. and Jackey H. Vizzier, of Ben Lomand, CA; her half-sister Pat Denne of St. Cloud, MN. She also has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 625 Airport Road, Huntsville, AL 35802, or the Alzheimer's Association.

Yvonne, Rick, Mike and Ben-I just read my last weeks Sunday paper and saw Mrs. Vizzier's obit. I have such wonderful memories of the Vizzier's next door on Piedmont Dr. I loved your mom-she was a doll!! May God bless and comfort each of you during this difficult time. I worked at Huntsville Hospital in the 70's with Mrs. Vizzier. I admired her and learned a lot from her. May God comfort the whole family as you grieve her loss.
