Cynthia Jacobs-Burkett

JACOBS-BURKETT, CYNTHIA Cynthia Jacobs-Burkett of Traverse City, 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, October 26, 2012, in the company of her loved ones at Munson Medical Center. Cindy was born in Bay City on January 15, 1948 to her loving parents, Harry and Lorraine Nuenke of Traverse City, formerly of Bay City. Cindy graduated from Bay City Central. She then did some farming, lived and owned a business in Florida and after moving to Traverse City, worked at Potters Bakery and Rics grocery store. Cindy loved being involved with the VFW with her husband, Pete, by her side. Her passion was reading, fishing, walks in the woods, picking blueberries, watching and feeding the birds, swimming, finding the nicest Birch tree to admire, Christian music and her dog, Chico. Cindy is survived by her three sisters, Kim (Dave) Skrzypczak of Interlochen, Ruth (Steve) Doyle of Grayling, and Shelby (Bruce) Davison of Alaska; her very special niece and nephews, Matt Skrzypczak, Dr. Clay (Lisa) Skrzypczak, Zach Davison, Courtney (Justin) Eppler, and Sean Doyle; all the beautiful children, Gabe, Lucas, Ashlyn, Rachael, Noah, Emma, Annabelle, Landon, and Maria; her wonderful aunts and uncle Gloria Nuenke, and Clarence and Marge Sommers; many cousins and her good friends, Darleen Kunz and Cheri Lakies. Cindy was preceeded in death by her parents and husband, Pete Burkett. A special thanks to the 4th floor C-4 staff at Munson Medical and Tendercare. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1 PM in Room 101 at New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg, 2 1/2 miles north of the Grand Traverse Resort.
