Chester Wallenwine Obituary

WALLENWINE, CHESTER Chester Wallenwine of Jackson, age 93, went to be with the Lord November 5, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mahlon and Myrtle (Culp) Wallenwine. Chet is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ethel; son, Steven (Carolyn) Wallenwine; grandchildren, Paul (Marissa) Wallenwine, Jane Wallenwine and Mark (Amy) Wallenwine; great grandchildren, Sofia, Carter and Brody. Chet retired from Diecast Corporation with 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII in the South Pacific. Chet had a passion for art, painting many commercial and residential murals. He was an avid runner, competing in many Jackson area runs and was a charter member of the Jackson Trail Pacers Running Club. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake with Rev. Leo Cummings officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Jackson. Just heard the news of Chet passing. Many great memories of him growing up across the street.Even in my best shape I could not keep up with him.He will be missed.

I haven't seen or talked with Chet or Ethel in years. I use to deliver their newspaper to them. Bless you both, Chet in your new adventure and Ethel in your healing time.

My Husband Howard and myself, Joyce, saw Ethyl and Chet many times in our travels with the Jackson Trippers. Especially Palm Springs. I remember Chet hanging a thermomater outside of their room for the termperature. We both enjoyed both Chet and Ethyl and even when they used to come to Target for coffee. Iknow he will be missed.
