Catherine Seifferly

Age 79 years, Catherine died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family following an eleven month battle with cancer. She was born to Frederick and Catherine (Auld) Roberts November 3, 1933 in Flint and was a graduate of Hurley Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1954. On January 22, 1955 Catherine was united in marriage to Gerald J. Seifferly and they shared their lives together for over 57 years. Gerald survives her, along with four children, Karen Seifferly of Bay City, Susan (Chris) Mika of Holland, MI, Michael Seifferly, formerly of Bay City, and Dr. David (Michelle) Seifferly of Zeeland, MI; nine grandchildren, Trish Timm of Bay City, Kaila and Kendra Seifferly of FL, Scott, Steven, Spencer, and Seth Mika of Holland, MI, Elizabeth and Rebecca Seifferly of Zeeland, MI; five great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Roberts of Bay City; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Nora Seifferly of Bay City; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The loves of her life were her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to the casino and playing lottery, traveling to visit family, reading, and cheering for The University of Michigan with family. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Church of St. Boniface, Lincoln and McKinley Streets, Bay City. Catherine will lie in state in church Friday after 10:00 AM. Rev. Dale A. Orlik will preside and Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice (Bay City). Visiting hours are Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the W. A.
