Mr. DeGooyer was a great man and community leader in Spencer, Iowa. His service to our Educational Community made it one of the best school systems in the state. My thoughts go out to his family.

Mr. DeGooyer was the Principal when I attended Jefferson Elementary in Spencer, IA 30 years ago. I remember him as a respected authority figure and a nice person. We were taught to spell the word principal with a "pal" at the end because the principal was a pal. This fit him! May you find peace in your many wonderful memories.
