Jerry Fletcher

Jerry Fletcher, of Munith, MI, age 65, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 surrounded by his family at CareLink of Jackson. He was born on May 18, 1947 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the son of Bennie Sr. and Molly (Shouse) Fletcher. Jerry found pleasure in hunting, fishing, the art of wheeling and dealing, was a master at the gift of gab, and never met a stranger. He was a jack-of-all-trades, a shade-tree mechanic, and a top notch do-it-yourselfer (so he said). Spending time with his family was always a top priority. In addition to his wife Rita, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage, he is survived by his two sons who made him very proud, Dennis (Julie) Fletcher of Leslie and Brian Fletcher of Munith. The light of Jerry's life was his three grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face: Sydnee, Myah, and Caiden. Also surviving are his siblings: Jan Jurkan of Gregory, Emma Jean (Silas) Poe of Adrian, James Fletcher of Jackson, Sheila (Dwight) Johnson of Adrian, Sharon (Dennis) Kerr of Gregory, and Sharlene Wilson of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gary and Bennie Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Family Tabernacle Church of God, 15901 M-36, Pinckney, MI 48169 with Pastor Jeff Howard officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
