Patty Lynn Goodell, of Flint, age 58, passed away July 9, 2013
at her home surrounded by
her family, following her courageous battle with cancer, and earning her angel wings. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Bruce Nowacek officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday and 11 AM until time of service on Saturday. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 4087 will be held at 7:15 PM Friday. Patty was born in Flint, MI on October 12, 1954, daughter of Albert
and Arvilla M. (Wixson) Hanner. Patty was a 1972 graduate of Carman-Ainsworth High School. She married John B. Goodell on October 25, 1980 in Goodrich, MI. Patty was an amazing wife, mother and grandma. She loved to be involved with her family and their activities. Patty was actively involved as a Ke-Ho-Ne Girl Scout Leader for many years, AYSO Soccer Coach and Registration, Kearsley Wrestling and Soccer Booster. Patty is survived by her husband, John B. Goodell; children, Stephanie (Floyd) Palmateer, Laura (Jason) Kirchner and Lance (fiancee, Brittany Gangler) Goodell; grandchildren, Max, Isaac and Henry; parents, Albert and Arvilla Hanner; brothers, Mike Hanner and Albert (Jan) Hanner; sister, Pam Hanner. I am so sorry for your loss. I met Patty in Bible study this year and she reminded me that the Lord continues to use us to encourage others till the end.Patty was such an encouragement, determined to know HIM more each week.

I spent many hours talking with Patty up at the old flea market in Mt Morris, when we both worked up there, her selling insurance and me selling tools. Made me laugh every single day. My heart aches at the loss of such a warm and welcoming light

I was sorry to hear about Patty. She and I go way back to,most likely, the the day after Labor Day, 1959, kindergarten at Nora Jackson elementary. Its sad to lose someone, even if we had lost contact, that was such a big part of my history.

We are so sorry to hear about Patty..Patty and I grew up as "BEST FRIENDS-cousins and sisters".. I wished that we could of seen more of each but as we grow older we get away from those close to us. So very sorry to hear of Patty's passing.She was one of the nicest people I've ever met..didn't matter how long it was since you had seen each other she always acted like it was just the other day since she had talked to you even though it had been years. Prayers are with you.
