I want to take this time to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers for our family after we lost "Dick".. I think I'm going to drop the step dad title because he never deserved it... as a friend of mine whom just lost her step dad this week also said to me the other day really hit deep with me and I want to share it with you.... a "step parent" is not just someone who marries your mother or father. They also marry the kids who come with that person. I loved my stepfather as much as, or more, than my "biological" father. And the ONLY reason I use the word "stepfather" is for other people to know which man I'm referring to. HE was the man who raised me and taught me values to carry me through the rest of my life. He loved us and was the one who disciplined us when we deserved it.
Dick was a very humble man who I think never realized how many lives he touched over the years and it was very nice to see everyone share their special moments with other friends and family members.
