Donald DeKuiper

DEKUIPER, MR. DONALD J. Muskegon Mr. Donald J. DeKuiper, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014. He was born in Fremont, MI on May 9, 1923 to LaVern and Dena (Niebor) DeKuiper and lived most of his growing up years in Fremont where he graduated from Fremont High School in 1941. In 1942 he joined the US Army and served in the European Campaign during WWII. Don worked for GTE for 36 years as an engineer and was also involved in Junior Achievement and after retirement he was a senior driver for the Red Cross. Don was a long time member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church and served as both an elder and a deacon. He loved doing visitation for the church. Don enjoyed playing golf and participated in a bowling league. He also looked forward to spending time at his cottage at Crystal Lake in Whitehall. SURVIVORS Wife of 66 years, Wilma (Nelson) DeKuiper; children, Ruth (Robert) Tuttle of Adrian MI, Dale (Deb) DeKuiper of Traverse City MI, Carol (Dave) MacDonald of Andrews IN, Cathy (Rich) Golz of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Stan (Pat) DeKuiper of Fremont MI and Alvin (Jean) DeKuiper of Deerfield FL. He was preceded in death by brother, Morris DeKuiper and sister, Wilma Hayward. CELEBRATION OF DON'S LIFE Saturday, January 25, 2014, 11:00 AM and visitation will be held at 10:00 AM prior to the service at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev.
