The last time I saw Dennis was around 1974. I had been a teammate in basketball with him at BCC.
At that point he was already about 6´4" and probably 220 lbs. he was in the 9th grade and I was a sophomore.
I transferred to Arthur Hill and competes with him then in football and basketball.
When I saw him again in Bay city we were playing for city league basketball teams.
He still had that great big smile .
We had a good discussion .
I remember you Denny.

I do remember his big smile but also remember playing high school basketball on the varsity at BCC.
He was an outstanding athlete and a very friendly guy.

I will always remember my astonishment at his physical presence when I first met him at Bay City Central in 1962. He was already as they say a man among boys. We played basket ball on the same varsity team , he was a freshman and I a sophomore.
I transferred to Saginaw Arthur Hill my junior year and competed with Dennis both in football and basketball.
I went on to play football at Western Michigan.
In all my years I never again came in contact with someone so physically gifted.
I also remember him as a fierce competitor and one who could also laugh easily.
I just learned of his passing and needed to send this message .
I still some old photos of Dennis and I on the basketball court in Bay City when we played against each .
My deepest sympathies to his family

Denny was a great team mate and a good friend. I always admired his ability to laugh, to find the fun in a situation, plus his fierce play on the gridiron & basketball court.

Beth and Family, I am so sad to hear about Dennis. We had so many good and fun conversations on Linwood Beach when he was walking or riding his bike. I knew him since High School, but got to know him well, after I moved to the beach. Denny always made me laugh. Of course he was one of the best football players I knew. My father Elmer Engel sure thought a lot of him. I will really miss him. So so sorry for your lose.

Beth,
We are so sorry for your loss.
Dennis was a fun loving guy who will be dearly missed.
He joined us in Buffalo a couple of times, met the cousins and had a great time. No one tail gates like the fans in Buffalo.
We always enjoyed Dennis's company at the local pubs in Bay City. He always had an interesting conversation to share.
We'll never forget the time he collected $5.00 from everyone at the table, went off to play the lottery and came back with $137.00 for each of us! He made life fun!
Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Just remember Denny from school at St Boniface. I believe we were in the same reading group in first grade. I haven't seen him for years...but remember him as being a really nice classmate. I am sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts.
