BURTON, EUGENE CHASE Mr. Eugene Burton died of natural causes at the John George home where he has been a resident the past 7 years on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the age of 88. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on September 26, 1925. At an early age his lust for life took him on many adventures. He lived in multiple states, including California, Oregon and Florida always returning to his home town of Jackson. He fought bravely in World War II and received the Purple Heart during the battle of the bulge. He continued his service to our country in all branches. Geno, as most of his friends knew him, was larger than life. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He was an excellent bowler, golfer, dancer and later in life took up the game of darts. He was fierce competitor using every tool he had to win. He tirelessly worked to excel in any endeavor he under took. He owned several businesses including a party store, a bowling alley, a Laundromat and a landscape business. He was the life of the party and always had a quick smile and a hardy laugh. He had a passion for the ladies until his last breath. Geno is survived by his daughter Lisa Haskins, his son Spencer Burton, his sister Connie Cole, his grandsons Joseph and Anthony Carman and his great grandson, Joe Jr. A service honoring his life will be held at the John George Home (1501 E.
