Lavina Jane Nast

NAST, LAVINA JANE Lavina Jane Nast, of Burton, age 81, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Hopewell General Baptist Church, 5162 N. Belsay Rd., Flint; Pastor Scott Sutherland officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association. Lavina was born in Flint, MI on September 12, 1932, daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Rollf) Loomis. She married Frank Nast, Jr. on August 29, 1958 in Clio, MI. Lavina enjoyed square dancing, painting, crafts, woodcarvings, knitting, sewing, playing cards and being outdoors. She also loved to travel and spending time with her children. Lavina is survived by her children, Chuck (Pam) Nast, Jane Nast and Bill Peterson; grandchildren, Kristine, Michael, Mark, Jeffrey, Jessica and Billy; great-grandchildren, Tara, Steven, Kaygan, Kyle, Henry and Tyler; siblings, Ed (Barb) Loomis, Bob (Helen) Loomis, Jean (Eugene) Armstrong, Beverley (Evert) Dees, Barbara Lancaster; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Phyllis Biddle and many other friends.
